A proposed mixed-use commercial renovation and residential addition to the existing Peabody and Stearns "Cunard Building." The addition's orientation, material, and scale heighten the dynamic mix of architectural styles of the area, reflect the surface tension of the horizontal and vertical textures of adjacent building facades, and reference the dynamic motion of the historic Cunard steamliner's bridge. The ground floor retail spaces open to State Street and create a direct urban connection to a proposed rear courtyard and historic Quincy Market.
