The City of Quincy has proposed a renovation of its city center including the new construction of a public pavilion and gathering space. The structure will provide a new platform for public and private gatherings including performances, political talks, educational events, and leisure activities. A unique formwork of concrete columns hold a series of custom polycarbonate louvers which provide shade for the space below while creating a unique aesthetic for the user to enjoy. The traditional language of the pavilion is complimented by contemporary detailing methods and materials that speak to the strong history of Quincy.
